Through our meticulous tanning process, we transform raw material into an article of the highest quality. The small marks and imperfections an animal picks up over its lifetime remain visible on the surface; just like the grain in wood, these natural characteristics are not defects but the strongest guarantee of authenticity in full grain leather.

No matter how cutting-edge technologies are, every processed hide is unique and different from the previous one. Leather is a natural product and as such, bears all hallmarks of its origin such as healed scars, growth marks, areas of differing fibre density and hair pore structure. During the tanning process (45 to 50 different manufacturing stages), the hide is turned into a fine material for upholstery purposes. Just like wood, the natural origin of the leather can be visible on the surface and guarantees that the hide is genuine.

All of Antic Cuir’s natural leather production is sourced from by-products of the global food chain. Since prehistoric times, making use of these animal remains has allowed us to recycle an existing resource that would otherwise become massive waste, turning it into an extremely durable covering material.
