Frequently asked questions about leather for leather goods manufacturing
1. What is the minimum order for leather for leather goods?
Antic Cuir works with small artisan collections and large fashion-brand production runs alike. All our 100 % natural leather goods ranges are held in permanent stock at our warehouses and orders are fulfilled from half a hide upwards.
2. What is the difference between your finishes for bags and accessories?
As a leather goods manufacturer, we offer two qualities depending on the finish your design calls for. Full grain leather keeps the animal’s original pore structure, giving a warm hand, a natural patina and noble ageing for exclusive pieces. Corrected grain leather, on the other hand, delivers a completely uniform appearance and a clean cut that optimises material use in the workshop.
3. Does your leather for leather goods include any kind of protection?
Yes. During manufacturing, every hide supplied under the Anticcuir brand receives a stain-resistant finish as standard. This provides very useful initial protection for the everyday use of bags and accessories, although as a natural product it still benefits from basic care with a damp cloth and nourishing once a year.
4. Is your leather for leather goods an environmentally friendly, sustainable material?
Absolutely. All the leather we sell for leather goods is a recycled by-product of the food chain. Turning it into a noble article prevents large volumes of waste. And because it is biodegradable and extremely long-lasting, it is far more environmentally sound than synthetic plastics.
