1. What advantages does your marine upholstery material offer over synthetic leather or standard PVC?
Traditional marine vinyl compounds based on PVC or polyurethane tend to crack, overheat in the sun and lose flexibility as salt builds up. As a high-tech alternative for marine upholstery, we manufacture a pure silicone Bio-Material. It contains no petroleum-based plastics, feels exceptionally good to the touch, does not deform over time and lasts far longer in a marine environment.
2. Does silicone marine leather resist seawater and UV rays?
Absolutely. Our marine leather collections are developed to strict technical specifications for highly saline environments. The molecular structure of our Bio-Material repels fluids by nature (it is 100 % waterproof) and offers exceptional thermal stability, preventing the degradation, fading or cracking caused by direct, prolonged UV exposure.
3. How do you maintain and clean boat upholstery?
Unlike conventional marine vinyl, which absorbs oils and sun creams and leaves permanent stains, the surface of our material is both water and oil repellent. Routine cleaning after a day at sea only requires a damp cloth with fresh water and neutral soap. Being antibacterial, it also prevents the mould and fungus caused by moisture trapped in boat cushions.
